san >> catherine: the rust is taking on a new meaning at a popular san jose golf course. herds of wild pigs are running loose. kron four's rob fladeboe shows us the damage - and how grounds- keepers are fighting back. >> reporter: 3rd hole here at almaden valley country looks like the moon after a herd of some 40 wild pigs turned it into swiss cheese this week. swiss cheese this week. you can hardly walk through here now, much less play a shot from the rough and the pigs grow bolder by the day. >> reporter:groundskeepers are trying to fence the pigs out but it's a losing battle. they're especially active this year because it's so dry in the nearby hills. they will stop at nothing to find water and the grubs >> reporter:that live in the soil here.

student at the high school. >> reporter:just two days ago we had the math teacher fatally shot in sparks nevada. in the massachuetts case.it's unclear how exactly coleen ritzer died.but police say she was beaten and her body found this morning in a wooded area near danvers high school at which she taught. >> reporter: they say surveillance video shows this he hadcarried her body from the bathroom to the wooded area. >> reporter:always went out of her way to talk to students.one of the nicest teachers at danvers high school. his classmates describe him as soft-spoken and pleasant. prosecutors have charged a 14-year-old boy

with murder. he's been ordered held without bond for allegedly killing a math teacher at a suburban boston high school. the body of colleen ritzer was found yesterday near danvers high school. authorities say she and the student, philip chism, were known to each other. she has been described as very respected and loved. >> she was the best teacher someone could ever have. >> reporter:the suspect, phillip chism was arraigned today in adult court. he's being held without bail at a county jail. the red sox plan a moment of silence. >> catherine: we're learning more about the student who opened fire at a middle school in sparks, nevada -- killing a teacher and wounding two classmates before turning the gun on himself. >> catherine: but police still don't know why he did it. the gun the seventh grade boy used came from his home -- and it's possible his parents could be charged. meantime -- a candlelight vigil is planned tonight -- to honor the murdered teacher and injured students. stephanie elam has the latest. >> reporter: the 12 year-old
